If you’re the novel-reading sort, allow me to recommend Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer. It’s the story of a quirky kid struggling to deal with losing his father on 9/11. The book oozes tragedy and genius, and you’ll laugh as it puts you through the ringer.
